I started
playing the bass guitar around 1982, mostly playing along with Black Sabbath and Rush albums. My brother introduced me to
the faster paced riffs of Iron Maiden. Shortly after that, I was hooked.
The first serious
band that I was in was called Regime (1987-1990). We were all influenced by different areas of music-- mine still being heavy
metal bands such as Metallica and Megadeth. I bounced around between several bands, just jamming and getting a feel for what
I wanted at the time.
In 1992, I helped form Deceiver and had several good quality shows
with them including playing at The Whiskey in Los Angeles in 1993. I also recorded a few albums with Deciver.
In early 1995, I heard a kick-ass band called Cybicus. Again, I was hooked. Now THERE was a
band that I thought I could match with perfectly. The only problem was that they already had a good bass player. During a
recording session with Deceiver, I was approached by Todd (he saw I was "lacking happiness" at the time). Cybicus
needed a rhythm guitarist, and he suggested that I should give it a shot. I joined Cybicus as a rhythm guitarist in March
of 1995, but my work schedule at the time prevented me from becoming a full-time member. We decided to part ways in October
until I could straighten out my work schedule.
In early 1996,
I re-joined Deceiver as bass player, and we opened up for Cannibal Corpse in August. In the meantime however, I still felt
that death metal was not what I wanted to do 100% of the time. In early September of 1996, I again hooked up with Cybicus
this time as a bass player. Along with some side projects with Todd, I've been with Todd and Juli ever since. Some of
my favorite bands include Iron Maiden (of course), Rush, Death, Iced Earth, Dream Theater, Judas Priest, Fates Warning, and
a lot of the older rock bands like The Who, and Zeppelin. I also like the newer stuff such as Evanescence, Lacuna coil, and
Three Days Grace.
Anyway, enough of my babble...
I now play
Bass and sing backing vocals
for Shadowsreach. I look forward to what the future brings.
I am in the process of putting together a rig that compliments the band. Peavey, Ibanez
